Dr. Lawrence's expertise is in the treatment of spinal disorders, including traumatic and
degenerative conditions of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbosacral spine.
Dr. Lawrence is board-eligible with the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Dr. Lawrence serves as Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Division of Orthopaedics at
Albany Medical College. He has published research articles in numerous journals,
including Spine, The Spine Journal, the Journal of Spine Disorders and Techniques,
and the Journal of Neurosurgery: Spine. He has also authored numerous chapters in
textbooks of spinal surgery, and has presented original clinical and basic science
research at numerous national and international conferences in spine surgery.
He is also a member of a number of specialty societies.
Dr. Lawrence received combined degrees in Medicine and Business Administration from the
University of Connecticut. He then completed internship and residency training in
Orthopaedic Surgery at Yale-New Haven Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut.
He then completed fellowship training in Orthopaedic and Neurosurgical Spine Surgery at
Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and the Rothman Institute in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
He joined Capital Region Spine in 2008.
