Dr. Jeffrey Lozman is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon and a senior partner at
Capital Region Orthopaedics. His practice includes total joint replacements,
reconstructive joint surgery, arthroscopy, and the surgical treatment of complex fractures.
Dr. Lozman completed his orthopaedic residency at Albany Medical College.
After two years in the United State Navy as Chief of Orthopaedics at the Main Naval Regional Medical Center in
Okinawa Japan, he completed a fellowship in orthopaedic traumatology under the direction of
Professor Maurice Muller in Berne, Switzerland.
Dr. Lozman returned to Albany to join the orthopaedic practice of Dr. James Dougherty.
Dr. Lozman is a Clinical Professor of Surgery (Orthopaedics) at the Albany Medical College and is an
Attending Surgeon at Albany Medical Center, St. Peter's, and Memorial Hospitals.
He has served as Chairman of the Medical Staff at both Albany Medical Center and at Child's Hospital,
as well as being active on many hospital committees. Dr. Lozman has published articles and book chapters concerning
the care and management of complex orthopaedic fractures.
He also lectures and teaches regularly both in the United States and abroad on fracture care.
Dr. Lozman is a member of the Wilderness Medical Society and is Regional Medical Director to the
National Ski Patrol Eastern Division. Dr. Lozman was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Arthritis Foundation,
Northeastern New York Chapter. He has served as Chairman of the Regional Membership Committee to the
American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Other memberships include the
American Medical Association, New York State Society of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Orthopaedic Trauma Associations,
and the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Lozman is a member and past president of the
New England Trauma Study Group. He has served on the board of Directors at Temple Beth Emeth
and the Albany Jewish Community Center. Dr. Lozman has been featured in
"Best Doctors in America", Who's Who, and Personalities of America.
Dr. Lozman lives in Delmar with his wife Nancy and their children, Joshua and Rebecca.
They are all avid downhill skiers, cyclists, and hikers.
