Dr. James Striker specializes in the treatment of Arthritis and Reconstructive Surgery focusing on
Total Joint Replacement of the Knee and Hip. He is board certified with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
He has appointments with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and serves as
the President of the New York State Society of Orthopaedic Surgeons, as well as
Assistant Division Surgeon for the New York State Police.
He is an adjunct professor for physical education for the State University of New York at Albany.
Dr. Striker also serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Albany Medical College.

Dr. Striker received his medical degree from Albany Medical College of Union University in 1974.
His internship was completed at North Shore University Hospital & Memorial Sloane Kettering Cancer Center.

He was a Fellow in Arthritis and Reconstructive Surgery focused on Total Joint Replacement at
Harvard Medical College. Dr. Striker has been a practicing Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon since 1979.
He joined Capital Region Orthopaedics in 1994.
